Poster: Bronze Galloping Horse
With its head held high, the horse surges forward, three hooves suspended in the mid-air while the fourth treads upon a flying bird that twists back in alarm – this is the Bronze Galloping Horse, a treasured bronze artifact from China's Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220). Unearthed in Wuwei, Gansu, a pivotal city along the ancient Silk Road, it is now housed in the Gansu Provincial Museum. It showcases the superb bronze casting craftsmanship of China's Central Plains and the vigorous spirit of the fine steeds from the historic Western Regions. It also symbolizes the open and inclusive spirit of the Silk Road and vividly portrays the prosperous trade and cultural fusion of ancient times.
