Boost China-Arab Cooperation and Move Forward Together*

At the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) held in 2018, I announced the establishment of the China-Arab strategic partnership, and proposed building a China-Arab community of shared future as part of our endeavors to build a global community of shared future. This initiative has been warmly received by the Arab countries. Over the past two years, our two sides have strengthened coordination on strategic affairs and concrete actions, consolidated mutual political trust, delivered solid outcomes in Belt and Road cooperation, and increased and enriched our people-to-people exchanges. Working together, we have raised to a new level the China-Arab future-oriented strategic partnership of comprehensive cooperation and common development.

In the battle against Covid-19, China and the Arab countries have stood firmly together and increased mutual support and cooperation. This vividly demonstrates the close bond that binds us. Now, more than ever, we need to increase cooperation to navigate this trying time and move forward together. Both sides should take the opportunity presented by this conference to reinforce consultation on our strategies in various fields and boost cooperation on our response to Covid-19. Let us work together to build an ever-stronger China-Arab community of shared future, and deliver greater benefits to our peoples.
