Located in Sanxingdui Town, Sichuan Province, the Sanxingdui Ruins spans 12 square kilometers, with a core zone covering an area of about 3.6 square kilometers. It is the most widespread and longest undisturbed ancient cultural site with the greatest concentration of cultural materials in southwest China.

The archaeological discoveries of Sanxingdui have greatly enriched ancient documents while revealing the originality and creativity of the ancient Shu civilization, as well as its close ties to other ancient sub-civilizations in China. This has underscored the importance of the ancient Shu civilization as an integral part of Chinese civilization.
