Spring Festival travel rush begins
BEIJING -- The Spring Festival travel rush, also known as Chunyun, is the largest annual human migration worldwide.
Hundreds of millions of people are swarming train stations, airports, and coach terminals across China for family reunions on the Lunar New Year's eve, which falls on Jan. 21.
Beijing Fengtai Railway Station, built in 1895, is the oldest railway station in the Chinese capital.
After a four-year reconstruction, the station resumed services on June 20, 2022, becoming the largest passenger railway hub in Asia.
The brand new station now welcomes its first Spring Festival travel rush after its reopening.
