BEIJING -- A speech delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, when members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 20th CPC Central Committee met the press on Oct. 23, will be published on Wednesday.
The speech by Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will be published in this year's 22nd issue of the Qiushi Journal, a flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.
The speech says China is taking confident strides on a new journey to build a modern socialist country in all respects.
It stresses the need to always keep an enterprising spirit, act for the people and rely on them in every aspect of work, press forward with self-reform, and champion the common values of humanity on the new journey ahead.
Just as China cannot develop in isolation from the world, the world needs China for its development, notes the speech.
It says the Chinese economy has great resilience, potential and latitude. Its strong fundamentals will not change, and it will remain on a positive trajectory over the long run.
The speech says China will open its door ever wider and the country will be steadfast in deepening reform and opening up across the board and in pursuing high-quality development.
A prosperous China will create many more opportunities for the world, it adds.
