Auto execs submit proposals on vehicle safety and chips to two sessions
The annual sessions of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee are in progress, and executives of some carmakers have submitted their proposals. Here are some of the most popular ones, keeping an eye on hot issues including vehicle safety, low-carbon development and auto chips.

Li proposed that China should promote the application of methanol vehicles with favorable policies to attract more companies to focus on the research and development of such vehicles, which will help accelerate carbon neutrality in the transportation sector. Li said that as a low-carbon and oxygen-containing fuel, methanol is efficient, clean and renewable. It is safer and more convenient for storage, transportation and use than other new energy and clean energy. Developing methanol vehicles will ensure energy security in China and increase the proportion of clean energy used in transportation.
